Sentio
Nicosia | Cyprus

The concept behind the creation of Sentio stems from the very building that hosts it. A relic of modernism, the structure now stands within an urban fabric of particular character in the city of Nicosia.
The restaurant opens itself to the city without imposing boundaries on the surrounding outdoor space. It establishes a contemporary and welcoming environment, where the interior composition fosters nodes of social interaction among its guests.

Geometric curves unfold into an organic, recurring motif, defining the principal axes of symmetry within the space. The deep blue of the ceiling evokes the boundlessness of our world, sealing the interior as a celestial canopy. At the same time, it recalls the morphological gestures of the modernists, who often painted ceilings in hues of blue, provoking a reciprocal visual play between architecture and sky.

The spatial organization is articulated through a main hall arranged in a linear, parallel composition, culminating in the heart of the restaurant. Here lies the central dining table, placed beneath a luminous “celestial” body — the moon — a singular lighting piece designed by the Italian designer Davide Groppi.

Directly behind the dining table, the bar operates as a nucleus, weaving together the different functions of the restaurant.

Towards the rear of the building, service spaces unfold: restrooms, storage, office, and the engine of production itself — the kitchen — where Sentio’s remarkable dishes are conceived. Craftsmanship and detail here echo the architectural identity of the space with uncompromising precision.
